About

High Paw Media helps businesses and organizations in the pet industry share their stories through PR, social media and content development.
Founder Caroline Golon has spent her entire 18-year PR career helping businesses connect with their consumers in a meaningful and emotional way. Starting her professional life in book publishing as a publicist and marketing specialist, Golon later worked for several PR and interactive agencies.
In 2009 she turned her focus to the pet world. She launched her first site, cat humor blog, Romeo the Cat, with a purpose: to use the proceeds from the blog to raise money and awareness for animal rescues and shelters.
Since then, Golon has raised more than $65,000 through her blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Her fundraising work has been featured in USA Today, Peoplepets.com, The New York Times, The Associated Press, Animal Wellness, Cat Fancy, Woman’s World, ABCNews.com, Marketwatch and more.
In order to stay intimately connected to pet consumers’ interests and needs, Golon launched additional pet-related web sites. In addition to Romeo the Cat, she manages The Happy Litter Box, dedicated to helping cat parents solve litter box issues and keep more cats in happy homes; Daily Nuzzles, a daily dose of pet humor, sweetness and freebies and Crayons & Collars, a site dedicated to life with kids and pets.
In 2009, Golon co-founded BlogPaws, the premier online community, resource and annual conference centered around pet blogging and social media. In late 2012, BlogPaws became part of the Pet360 family.
Golon is also a regular columnist on Vetstreet.com, Catster and Petfinder.
You can find Golon many places online but she resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and two young daughters. The Golons are dedicated staff members to Romeo and Pugsley, both rescued Persian cats who, obviously, run the household.
