High Paw Media founder Caroline Golon has a huge bag of dog treats’ worth of experience developing content and programs for pet sites and brands.
She’s developed marketing programs and content for pet food, cat litter, toys, grooming products, dog treadmills, pet technology, shelters and more.
Golon is a frequent contributor to sites like Vetsteet, Catster, Dogster, Mother Nature Network, ASPCA Parents, Petfinder, the Petco Community and more.
She also manages her own pet-related sites. Her first site, cat humor blog, Romeo the Cat, began with a purpose: to use the proceeds from the blog to raise money and awareness for animal rescues and shelters.
Golon raised more than $90,000 through her writing and social media efforts. Her fundraising work has been featured in USA Today, Peoplepets.com, The New York Times, The Associated Press, Animal Wellness, Cat Fancy, Woman’s World, ABCNews.com, Marketwatch and more.
In order to stay intimately connected to pet consumers’ interests and needs, Golon launched additional pet-related web sites including The Happy Litter Box, dedicated to helping cat parents solve litter box issues and keep more cats in happy homes, and Crayons & Collars, a site dedicated to the wonderful, messy, silly life with kids and pets.
In 2009, Golon co-founded BlogPaws, the first-ever online community, resource and annual conference centered around pet writing and social media. In 2014, BlogPaws, along with its parent company Pet 360, was acquired by PetSmart, Inc.
You can find Golon many places online but she resides in Columbus, Ohio with her family of four humans, one goofy mutt named Nigel and three persian cats named Pugsley, Mr. Wilson and Rufus who, obviously, run the household.
